Over the past two and half years Community Boating has worked closely with the DCR (Department of Conservation and Recreation) and others to develop plans for new docks at the boathouse. Significant time, energy and money have already gone into the project. We have a great design proposal which the DCR wants to move forward on. The next step is very important and we need your help with it.
While the DCR can propose a capital item in the state budget, any proposal ultimately needs approval higher up the chain of government. We want to marshal as much support for the DCR ‘s dock plan as possible. With this letter I am asking you to communicate to your elected state representatives and ask them to support the DCR’s plan to replace the docks at CBI..
On good authority I have learned that state representatives and senators generally receive very few communications from their constituents. If we all succeed at sending letters and emails then it will make a big impact on the outcome
I can’t imagine anything more important to CBI’s future than the successful replacement of these docks. You can make a critical difference for CBI just by writing a letter/email. PLEASE LEND A HAND.
You can find out who your representative and senator are, along with their contact information, by going to

Here is an example letter that you can use to write to your elected officials. Please feel free to copy all or some of it, cut and paste, or just write your own letter/email. The important thing is that we all need to make our elected representatives understand that a lot of their constituents want the dock project to move forward NOW.
Please contact me directly for more information or questions.
