Dock Replacement/Closing Update
|
CBI Members: The long awaited dock replacement project is finally here. There is temporary fencing on the Esplanade for boat and construction equipment storage. The barge is expected to show up towards the end of the week, with dock demolition starting on October 4th. To accomodate this, we have de-rigged and hauled half of the Mercurys, 2 Rhodes 19s, and all of the 420s, Lasers, and Windsurfers. The Front Office phase of the constuctionb project has been pushed back to after closing, so we no longer have to loose our bathrooms for a few weeks in-season. The last day of sailing operations of the 2010 season will be October 11, Columbus Day. During this period of demolition and construction, we will focus our energies on keeping CBI’s programs accessible to our members. We expect to keep enough Mercuries, Keel Mercuries, Sonars, and R-19s rigged through Columbus Day to accommodate typical fall usage. The October Harbor Trips are cancelled, and the Tiller Club will race on a revised fall schedule. So here is a summary of our fall season: October 4 Dock demolition begins October 11 Last day of 2010 sailing season. We will post work party dates on the web site, in Basin Breezes and on the Executive Directors Blog. As with every thing at CBI, we will need a lot of volunteer help to remain up and running through Columbus Day and then fully decommissioned for the season in advance of the contractors demolition work. Actual demolition begins on October 4. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Please contact any of our management team. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
